The book Lisboa nas narrativas: olhares do exterior sobre a cidade antiga e contemporânea, edited by Ana Isabel Queiroz, is an initiative of the project “Atlas of Literary Landscapes of Continental Portugal”, coordinated by IELT – FCSH, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, whose main objective is to establish a link between literature and the territory, adding value into each other.

This book has 12 texts about Lisbon. The texts, written by researchers from different academic areas, analyze the past, the present and the future of the Lisbon landscape, considering geographical, historical, anthropological, architectural, economic, ecological and artistic dimensions.

When exploring the imaginary about Lisbon and the respective literary geographies, there is an infinity of images, ideas and knowledge that contributes to generate new narratives about the Portuguese capital.
