Fuckin’Globo (2024) | Documentary
Synopsis: “In 2015, a group of artists decided to occupy the rooms of an old hotel in the center of Luanda. This is how Fuckin’Globo was born, a multidisciplinary art event where independent artists, without any sponsorship or institutional support, transformed the rooms of the Hotel Globo into innovative exhibition spaces.
In “Fuckin’Globo – The Documentary”, filmmaker Kamy Lara explores this alternative art movement, detailing it with testimonies and long shots, where the images speak for themselves. The film highlights the radical stance of the creators and artists of Fuckin’Globo, who in recent years have boldly and freely tackled cultural, social and political themes with works created specifically for the event.
The 47-minute documentary emphasizes the importance of the project, celebrating collectivity, creativity and artistic autonomy, revealing a space of innovation and freedom in the center of Luanda.
Kiluanji Kia Henda, Tho Simões, Toy Boy, Mussunda Nzombo and Pamina Sebastião are some of the artists who, through their experiences, narrate the origin and evolution of Fuckin’Globo in the seven editions held since 2015.”
The movie was released in 2024, being presented in few sessions. You can watch the trailer for the movie at the following link.
