Abstract: “Portuguese Azulejos tile art, known for its vibrant colors and intricate patterns, embodies Portugal’s rich cultural heritage. This craft has been integrated into Macao, preserving traditional styles while incorporating local themes, symbolizing the harmonious blend of Chinese and Portuguese cultures. This practice reflects the dedication of Macao’s residents and the native Portuguese community to preserving and interpreting Portuguese art, highlighting their connection to Macao’s unique culture. In 2020, the Manufacture and Painting of Portuguese Azulejo Tiles was registered on the inventory of intangible cultural heritage of Macao. While maintaining this heritage, Macao explores innovative approaches in modern cultural and creative design. This paper investigates the practical applications of Portuguese tile art in Macao’s cultural products, analyzing its role in heritage preservation and contemporary design. Using literature analysis and case studies, the research demonstrates how Portuguese tile art enhances Macao’s cultural products, providing empirical support for combining cultural preservation with innovation. The study offers insights into the development of heritage preservation and design innovation, inspiring other regions to use cultural heritage art for modernization and innovation, thereby promoting cultural industry sustainability and enhancing global influence.”
