Space, Place and Territory: Figures of contemporary Portuguese thought

In Space, Place and Territory: Figures of contemporary Portuguese thought, the geographer and assistant professor in the Department of Geosciences at the School of Sciences and Technology, University of Évora, André Carmo, takes as his starting point 41 figures of contemporary Portuguese thought, to reflect on the concepts of place and territory. According to the book’s synopsis, “each chapter offers a portrait focused on aspects of each figure’s life and the theoretical and institutional contexts in which they were formed, a detailed explanation of their main contributions to the advancement of thought, a critical reading around their main interventions in the public sphere, as well as the indication of the main works of their authorship and others considered relevant to understand their work or that, in some way, have been inspirational to them.”
