From Harcore to Emo | Documentary
Synopsis: “A 1-hour documentary, directed by Daniel Ferro, covering the independent bands of the Brazilian melodic hardcore scene, from the second half of the 1990s to the present day [2013], until the explosion and success of some bands in the mainstream market. With exclusive interviews with artists such as Dead Fish, CPM22, Garage Fuzz, NxZero, Dance of Days, Gloria, Sugar Kane, Forfun, Fresno, Hateen, Cueio Limão, Street Bulldogs, Bullet Bane and many others involved, the documentary reveals some previously unseen footage collected from the bands’ personal archives. The program also addresses issues such as the confusion that was the term “Emocore” in the country, the relevance of the Hangar 110 music hall for the strengthening of the scene, as well as delving into the impacts generated from a self-sufficient scene that transformed itself by becoming the sensation of young people in the first half of the 2000s, culminating in a current underground crisis.”
