Urban intervention, street art and public space

The book Urban intervention, street art, and public space, published in 2017 by Pedro Costa, Paula Guerra, and Pedro Soares Neves, proposes a debate on what is the city, and the urban life, through creative dynamics that reflect territorially embedded mechanisms, but also particular social and cultural process which need to be better studied.

Throughout the pages, the reader finds 12 chapters divided into five parts, including:

  • Setting the scene;
  • Arts, life and everyday live: broadening the public sphere(s);
  • Urban interventions, representations, and the (re)production of urban space;
  • Public art and the resignification of public space;
  • Research action in practice: urban interventions and knowledge co-creation
