Cities in celebration: communication, territorialities, imaginaries and political activism

Abstract: Cidades em festa is a collective work, built by many hands, heads and worldviews, when in its organization/curation work we are faced with academic trajectories, struggles and experiences that, although quite different, seem to conform around an ideology of a more democratic and free society that passes through the aesthetic-communicative atomism of parties, music, the most diverse cultural collectives, festive ambiences (underground, popular). Not by chance, it reflects what has been most emerging, if not most urgent, in the debate on Communication in its interface with urban and musical cultures, a debate that is increasingly guiding national meetings and events such as Intercom, Compós – National Association of Postgraduate Programs in Communication, Comúsica – Communication, Sound & Music Congress, Folkcom Conference and international ones such as Alaic – Latin American Association of Communication Researchers, Ibercom – Ibero-American Communication Congress and Ciespal/Felafacs – Latin American Communication Congress.
