Casa de Antiguidades
It is possible to understand art (and cinema as an integral part of this same art) as a way of interpreting the world. “Art crosses borders and breaks down language barriers” (Houang, 2015). And it is on this perspective that, using art, stories are told to bring certain debates to light.
This is the case of Casa de Antiguidades, produced by the Brazilian filmmaker João Paulo Miranda Maria. The film portrays the daily life of a black worker and brings to the screen old issues associated with culture, human life, prejudices, intolerances and archetypes.
Casa de Antiguidades was selected for the Cannes Film Festival and for the opening of Curtas Vila do Conde. It is available on the online platform until October 18th.
