CAC Research Group – Communication, Art and City
Coordinated by Cíntia Sanmartin Fernandes, the CAC Research Group – Communication, Art and City is linked to the Culture of Media, Imaginary and City research line of the Post-Graduate Program in Communication at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (FCS | UERJ ). The group is formed by a network of professors, doctoral students, master’s students and scientific initiation scholarship holders who make up a network of researchers whose work area is divided into two main fields: art and the city.
The research group was founded in 2004 by professor João Maia and gained its own space in 2010: the CAC Laboratory – Communication, Art and City, which works at UERJ’s Maracanã campus. Among the associated researchers, is also a member of Passeio, Fabio La Rocca. Among the projects developed by CAC | UERJ are initiatives focused on music, sounds and images that re-invent multiple territorialities in the city of Rio de Janeiro; suburb food; street cinema; youthful imaginary; among other themes.
