The landscape in Salaviza’s films: between the background and the scene

“There are multiple understandings of the landscape. Within the framework of architecture, geography, philosophy or art history, among other disciplines, the term is used to designate, depending on the approaches, objects of a very different nature, inevitably generating ambiguities of meaning. It is therefore important, first of all, to clarify, as much as possible, the notion of landscape that I start from. The landscape is not limited to an isolated element, nor is it confused with the territory or the environment, neither with the simple representation of space”.
