Raquel Batista
Raquel Batista is a doctoral student currently conducting in-depth research on the feedback loop between journalism and political populism. She holds a master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Minho, a postgraduate diploma in International Relations, Political and Economic Diplomacy, and a bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences, specializing in Journalism, from Lusófona University.
In parallel with her political studies, she has been conducting research in other areas, particularly in the field of gender studies. She has also been involved in projects and activities related to photography, cinema, and theater.
Her two most recent works in this area are particularly noteworthy: in theater, as a student and researcher in the research process for the play “Há quem tenha medo que o medo acabe” (Some people are afraid that fear will end), staged at the Coliseu Porto Ageas; and in the production and direction of a mini-documentary on the relationship between Mozambique and Portugal.
She is currently a research fellow at the Passeio and Museu Virtual da Lusofonia platforms, which are part of the Center for Communication and Society Studies.
