The bells and the belfry people

Last April, Passeio participated in a musical concert with bells – promoted by Braga City Council – directed by Spanish conductor Llorenç Barber and Mexican ethnomusicologist Montserrat Palacios. Both are fervent advocates of the manual ringing of bells and propose a practice that goes beyond religious tradition. For about 30 years they have been making music with church bells in several countries: Spain, Italy, Brazil, Portugal…
