Activism in Barcelona balconies

The residential buildings’ facades are the spaces where, from the street, we can observe and imagine each dwelling. In the book A Casa e a Rua, the Brazilian anthropologist Roberto DaMatta consider the balconies a space that also belong to the street. It’s a kind of square of a residence, a bridge between the interior and the exterior. In the case of the apartments, also a showcase, in which each inhabitant shows himself to the public. On the way to Barcelona, in the last days of January 2018, Passeio has looked to these spaces, trying to perceive something very much exposed in those days: the politics.
