Seminar of Visual Culture: “Imaginary of contagion: What do fashion trends and pandemics have in common?”

Organized by Passeio, in partnership with the Bachelor in Fashion Design and Marketing at the University of Minho, this session of the CECS Visual Culture Seminar will be dedicated to the theme Imaginary of contagion: What do fashion trends and pandemics have in common? The event will take place in Ed. 3 room 1.53 of the Azurém Campus of the University of Minho, as well as online, the link to which can be obtained from the QR Code on the poster.

Our guest, Suellen Cristina Vieira, proposes to show, based on the theory of the imaginary developed by Gilbert Durand and Michel Maffesoli, that pandemics and fashion trends can be understood as an intersection between the biological and the social and that fashion can be compared to a pandemic.
