The ambiguous code – from what fashion says to what fashion does
On November 3, another session of the Visual Culture Seminar will be held, this time dedicated to fashion. The initiative, which will take place at 14:00 in the ICS Hall at the University of Minho, will feature Catarina Moura. The guest is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Letters of the University of Beira Interior, where she has been the course director of the Master’s in Branding and Fashion Design since 2019. She has a PhD in Communication Sciences, with a thesis on Semiotics and Design. She co-edits Eikon – Revista de Semiótica e Cultura (since 2016) and co-organizes DESIGNA – International Conference on Design Research (2011-present), and is also involved in other scientific events on Design, Culture and Fashion. Her work and research interests focus on the areas of Design Theory and Criticism, Semiotics of Image and Artifacts, and Fashion Theory and Culture.
