TransArtes | 30th Braga Book Fair
On July 13, at 7 pm, at the 30th Braga Book Fair (Altice Forum), the book Transartes, expanded art and new languages, edited by Helena Pires & Zara Pinto-Coelho (Passeio’s coordinators), will be presented.
The book seeks to promote a broad and transdisciplinary vision, based on contributions from different academics and artists, in order to stimulate an understanding of the transformations in contemporary art, the expansion of its limits, and the hybridization that characterizes new languages in the field. How to read contemporary art? What are the meanings for the new experimentalisms, the risks, the subversions, the wanderings that animate the arts — or some of the ways of (re)creating — in contemporary times?
The book’s theme dialogues with the proposal of the 30th Braga Book Fair, which takes place between the 9th and 25th of July. This edition will be dedicated to the B Sides of Culture — from the most innovative trends, to the figures that broke borders and taboos, to the themes that remain far removed from the public highlight. Braga has long asserted itself as a city with a strong alternative culture, where innovation in ideas, creation, and affirmation of a cultural proposal pretends to be more evident.
